What it was covering is the reason these rods exist: the rippling swirl where two rubbers were worked together and left alone. It runs the full length of the rod and surfaces at the crown of every cap.

Heat set to an ebonite feed, threaded for a Jowo 6 housing, tuned and written with until I stopped wanting to put it down.
Each pen gets its own listing, with individual writing samples when offered as a set.

Hard rubber, mixed the way it was from 1900 to the late 1920s.

Gen 1. Read before you flex.
Gen 1 pens use a modified ebonite nib unit. Under aggressive flexing, ink flow can lag behind the nib. Everyday writing and moderate flex are unaffected.
Gen 2 resolves this with a feed of our own design. That is where the money is going.
