Unic | Fountain Pen & Glass Nib Safety Duo Set | Black Ebonite, Gold Trim | 18ct #2 Flex + #2 Milk Glass
An absolutely mint matching set straight from the factory, a flexible 18ct Unic safety and its glass-nib companion, in the original leather flap case exactly as sold.
The gold #2 is an amazing flexible nib. It spreads from a 0.30mm fine line to nearly 1.9mm on light pressure, better than 6x, and the return is quick and clean. The milk glass nib is a fixed 0.25mm point in opaque white, insanely precise and perfectly smooth, closer in feel to a rounded pencil point than to any modern extra fine. Two very different writers in one case; you swap them depending on what you're writing.
Sets like this usually shipped with a stylograph or a pencil as the second writer instead; a glass nib was much more versatile than either. The 18ct gold also dates the set before the wartime restrictions that pushed French makers onto steel nibs.
A2, mint. Neither pen shows any use, and the set is complete, case and all. Both still went through a full service, new cork seals and o-rings, fresh silicone grease, mechanisms cycled, nibs tuned.
Tested on Tomoe River 68gsm A5 white with Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black.

Abbreviated Filling Instructions
Line Variation Standard
Different restorers have different standards for line sizing and especially for vintage pens, the printed tipping size will not always be accurate due to repairs/grinds/etc. Please use this as a frame of reference for consistency.
Flexibility Standard
Nib flexibility is such a controversial topic, but there needs to be some level of consistency so please take this table as a frame of reference for my restorations and as someone who is writing in a calligraphic/spencerian style of cursive script. Without objective measurements, flexibility terms such as wet noodle are useless as someone with stronger forearms and grip strength will make even manifold nibs into a wet noodle.
