Unic Pocket Lever-Filler NPT, French Mottled Ebonite, 18ct Semi-Brush Nib
HM2602013
A near-mint pocket pen in its original box from a first-tier French manufacturer better known for their safety models and luxury overlay pens — finding a Unic lever-filler is a rare treat.
Some wear to the imprint hallmarks but exceptional condition throughout. The nib is extremely soft — given the smaller sac on this pocket pen, there is less air pressure helping guide ink to the feed, so after half a page of figure 8's the feed may need a moment to catch up. That said, this is not a realistic writing cadence for any calligraphy workflow.
Ebonite rejuvenated and lightly hand-polished — the natural softness restored. Will not feel brittle or prone to cracking. Imprints worn but legible, with trim in great condition. Nib heat-set and tuned for flex and smoothness. Approximately 2 hours hands-on. Fitted with a silicone ink sac — compatible with all fountain pen inks including iron gall, shimmer, and alkaline Japanese inks without risk to the sac. Store nib-up when not in use to prevent nib creep.
Tested on Rhodia 90gsm with Diamine Imperial Purple.

Appendix for Listing Details
Sweating the details is fundamental to understanding, appreciating, and knowing the peice of history you have in your hands.
All pens are filled and tested, not just dipped in ink, which does not reflect writing characteristics whatsoever.
Line Variation Standard
Different restorers have different standards for line sizing and especially for vintage pens, the printed tipping size will not always be accurate due to repairs/grinds/etc. Please use this as a frame of reference for consistency.
Flexibility Standard
Nib flexibility is such a controversial topic, but there needs to be some level of consistency so please take this table as a frame of reference for my restorations and as someone who is writing in a calligraphic/spencerian style of cursive script. Without objective measurements, flexibility terms such as wet noodle are useless as someone with stronger forearms and grip strength will make even manifold nibs into a wet noodle.
